Bachelor Seminars
In this section, we present a selection of specially curated seminars for Bachelor students. These seminars are designed to offer additional insights and detailed information to help you make informed choices.
Many of the listed seminars are interdisciplinary, interactive, and/or conducted in close collaboration with industry partners. They provide an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge, gain practical experience, and engage with real-world challenges beyond your core curriculum.

Registration takes place via OLAT and will start on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
Selection of participants
The number of participants is limited. In the event of overbooking, an initial selection will be made on the basis of the performance records already achieved in the Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance 2 modules.

Face-to-face event: The events will take place from 16 September to 25 November 2025 on Tuesdays from 14:00 - 18:00

Selection of participants
The number of participants is limited. If more applications are received than there are places available, the selection will be based on the applications submitted. The date of registration and motivation will be used as criteria. All interested parties will be notified by e-mail whether they can participate in the seminar.

The language of instruction is English. We expect continuous attendance and active participation in the discussions. If you have any questions, please contact baiba.renerte@df.uzh.ch. The seminar will be held as a block event on 14 March, 9 and 16 May 2025 at the University of Zurich. These dates are planned as face-to-face events.

Bachelor: Emerging Market Finance

Registration takes place via OLAT between Monday, 17 November 2025 and Friday, 9 January 2026.

All students who register via OLAT will be notified by e-mail. If you are accepted, please do not forget to register in the module booking system.
Further Information
The seminar takes place on 5 and 6 February 2026 at the University of Zurich. The seminar is concluded with a presentation on 13 March 2026.
Bachelor: Finance for the Future: Learning by Doing (Summer School)
Registration
Registration takes place via OLAT. The registration deadline is Monday, 9 February 2026.
Selection of Participants
All students who register on OLAT will be notified via email. If you are accepted do not forget to also register as usual in the module booking system.

The seminar takes place from 30 June until 21 July 2026 at the University of Zurich.
Bachelor: Finance with Excel
Registration
Registration takes place via OLAT. The registration deadline is Sunday, 12 April 2026. A mandatory online introductory event (preliminary discussion) will take place on Tuesday, 14 April 2026 from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. via Zoom.
Selection of Participants
All students who register on OLAT will be notified via email until Monday, 13 April 2026. In the case of overbooking, an initial selection is made on the basis of subject-specific criteria (attendance of the Corporate Finance and Asset Pricing lectures), after which the decision is made by lot.
More Information
The seminar will be held as a block event from 3 to 5 September 2026 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Seminarhotel Musikinsel Rheinau (http://www.musikinsel.ch) in Rheinau, Schweiz. The cost for two nights including full board is between CHF 330,- and CHF 370,- (depending on the room type).
Bachelor: Institutional Investing: Case Studies
Registration
Registration takes place via OLAT and begins on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Selection of Participants
The number of participants is limited. If more applications are received than there are places available, the selection will be based on the applications submitted.

The seminar takes place on-site on 28 and 29 January 2027.
Assessment:
Submission of a group assignment (presentation) and delivery of the presentation.
Bachelor: Kick-off Finance: Strategisches Finanzplanspiel
Registration
Registration takes place via OLAT. The registration deadline is Tuesday, 22 September 2026, 23:59. Everyone who registers will be informed by e-mail in the following days whether or not they can participate. The time of registration does not matter.
- By 22 September 2026, 23:59: Registration via the registration tool in OLAT
- 25 to 27 January 2027: Simulation
- 28 January 2027: Preparation of a company presentation (submission on 29 January 2027, 08:00)
- 29 January 2027: Presentation
Selection of Participants
The seminar is aimed at third-semester students who, at the time of registration, have been admitted to the Bachelor's level, i.e., have earned at least 45 ECTS credits, and are enrolled in the Finance major.
Generally, only registrations from students who meet these criteria will be considered.
More Information
- Introductory seminar for students in the Finance major with a strategic finance simulation game, an introduction to the “Finance Professional” competency framework, and insights into the systematic development of subject-specific and study-relevant transferable competencies.
- Physical attendance is mandatory because of the board game.
- The seminar is conducted in German.
Bachelor: Real Estate Cycles, Housing Supply, and Income
Registration
Registration takes place via OLAT. The registration deadline is Sunday, 30 August 2026.
Selection of Participants
The number of participants is limited. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

In-person sessions: The seminar will take place from 31 August to 2 September 2026, each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Language: This seminar will be conducted in German.

Registration
Interested students must submit their complete application documents in a single PDF file on OLAT up to and including Sunday, 20 September 2026, 24:00. The submission of application documents is only possible after the information event on 15 September 2026.
Selection of Participants
Participation in the information event on 15 September 2026 is required. Previous knowledge of banking & finance and/or business informatics is an advantage.
