The seminar is designed to provide students with an overview of the real estate asset class in Switzerland. The following points will be covered during the seminar:
- Overview of the real estate market in Switzerland
- Real estate as an investment vehicle
- Current trends in the real estate sector (CH and EU)
- Deals and transactions in the real estate sector
- Accounting and regulatory principles for auditing real estate investment vehicles
- Fundamentals of real estate valuation
- Tax aspects in the real estate sector
- ESG in the real estate sector
- AI in Real
Learning objectives
During the seminar, students will be taught the following learning objectives:
- Develop an overview of the real estate market in Switzerland, of real estate as an investment vehicle and of the megatrends in the real estate industry (CH and EU)
- Learn the basic techniques by means of a guided case study in the areas of deals and transactions, real estate valuation, accounting and regulatory requirements for auditing and tax aspects in the real estate industry
Students then select a given topic related to the above topics for the seminar paper. After completion of the seminar paper, it should be presented briefly.
