Andreas Fuster joins the Department of Finance

As of 1 October 2026, Andreas Fuster will join our department as Full Professor of Finance

As of 1 October 2026, Andreas Fuster will join our UZH Department of Finance as Full Professor of Finance. 

His research focuses on household and real estate finance, banking, and behavioral and experimental economics, with a particular interest in how technological innovations transform household credit markets.

Andreas’ work has been published in leading economics and finance journals, and he is actively involved in the international research community through roles such as research fellow at CEPR and associate editor of several top journals. He holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University.

We very much look forward to Prof. Fuster contributing to our research, teaching, and engagement with the broader finance community at the University of Zurich.

  • Prof. Dr. Andreas Martin Fuster
  • Full Professor of Finance
  • Start date: 1 October 2026
  • Prof. Dr. Andreas Fuster, born in 1980, studied economics at the University of Lausanne and the University of Oxford. He earned his Ph.D. in 2011 from Harvard University, MA, USA. This was followed by several years of professional experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, NY, USA, and the Swiss National Bank. Since 2021, Prof. Fuster has been an associate professor of finance at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
