PhD Awards 2025
Congratulations to the 3 winners: Amra Hrustanovic, Alex Osberghaus and Fabian Sandmeier
This year, three PhD candidates were honored with the “Award for Excellence in Teaching Support” and “Best PhD Posters” at this year’s PhD Retreat, celebrating their exceptional teaching contributions and research achievements.
The PhD awards were presented by Per Östberg, Associate Professor of Finance and Member of the DF Directorate, during an information event organized by our department.
The award winners
Amra Hrustanovic was recognized for her exceptional contributions as co-lecturer in the seminar "Value Reporting and Corporate Governance" and as teaching assistant in the "Interdisciplinary Seminar Mergers and Acquisitions". Her dedication and teaching skills were highly appreciated by students, as reflected in the excellent course evaluation scores.
Alex Osberghaus received the DF Award for Excellence in Teaching Support for outstanding teaching and tutoring in the Master's course "Advanced Banking".
He was also awarded the Best PhD Poster Award for his job market paper on synthetic risk transfers.
Fabian Sandmeier received the Best Poster Award at the PhD Retreat 2025 for his poster “The Impact of Risk Transfers on Systemic Risk”. The award highlights both the academic contribution of his research and his ability to communicate it effectively to a diverse audience.
