UZH Summerschool 2025: Finance for the Future

Hands-on experience across core topics including accounting, corporate finance, asset management, sustainable finance, AI, Game-based Learning and design thinking

Over the past three weeks, the University of Zurich proudly welcomed 39 students from around the globe to the Summer School Finance for the Future 2025. Designed as an immersive, challenge-based learning experience, the program brought together national and international participants to explore the future of finance through a practical, interdisciplinary lens.

A Hands-On Journey Through the World of Finance

This dynamic program bridged theory and real-world application across key areas such as:

  • Accounting & Corporate Finance
  • Asset Management
  • Sustainable Finance
  • Artificial Intelligence in Finance
  • Game-Based Learning
  • Design Thinking for Innovation

Participants engaged in hands-on projects, collaborated across cultures, and competed in a vibrant international learning environment—developing the skills and mindset needed to shape tomorrow’s financial world.

Summer School Challenge: Highlights

Our program combined cutting-edge content with innovative, interactive learning formats:

  • 📝 Live Quizzes & Micro-Learnings using the Klicker UZH platform

  • 🗺️ Campus-Wide Scavenger Hunt – discovering the University of Zurich through a playful lens

  • 🍫 ChocoStrategist Simulation – running a virtual chocolate company with strategic financial decisions

  • 📊 Portfolio Management Game – balancing risk and return in real-time scenarios

  • 🧩 Derivatives Game – exploring complex financial instruments through interactive gameplay

  • 🎨 Design Thinking Workshop – applying creative problem-solving to develop Game-based Learning solutions

Beyond the Classroom

More than just a finance program, Finance for the Future fostered:
